They offer a variety of graphics options, including a NVIDIA Quadro K-series GPU or AMD FirePro graphics. They also feature WLED and IPS RGB display options for clearer precision when dealing with color-critical work.
They are also equipped with a variety of expansion ports, including two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, an eSATA/USB combo port, and integrated video ports for VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort 1.2.
A more powerful mobile workstation

The M6700 features unique customization options with its larger size. It offers the option of a 10-finger multitouch display, NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro support, and the choice to equip a powerful AMD FirePro M6000 GPU with PCIe x16 Gen 3.
Dell is calling the M6700 the "lightest 17-inch mobile workstation." That mobile workstation caveat is important as it weighs in at 7.76lbs with the starting configuration, which includes a 9-cell battery.
There will also be a Covet Edition of the M6700, featuring a red finish on the chassis and a Gorilla Glass 2 screen at an extra charge.
While both the M4700 and M6700 offer high specs after customization, their base price is only $1,649 and $2,199 respectively.
The M6700 Covet Edition will start at $3,579. The Precision M4700 and Precision M6700 are available to order starting today through Dell's website.

Samsung beats iPhone sales

t looks like a pressurize-hype is building up at Cupertino to give their make or break shot for the new iPhone 5 as Sammy’s Galaxy line has been outstanding in the market shipping nearly twice as Apple for the second quarter.
iPhone vs Galaxy S 3
Strategy Analytics, a research firm claims that Samsung shipped 50.5 million units for 2Q 2012 topping a new record for a smartphone manufacturer greatest shipment for a quarter and interestingly the company now takes 35-percent of the global market. On the other hand, Apple shipped 26 million units on the same quarter that takes about 18-percent of the market share.
Sammy’s skyrocketing sales for the second quarter profit record of $5.86 billion and up by 79-percent compared at the same month last year.
At the moment, Apple and Samsung combined market share will have half of the global market for smartphones, with global shipments rose to 32-percent to 146 million units.

Microsoft Surface for Windows 8 Pro tablet: Full power PC, but tablet design

Microsoft has detailed two new own-built tablets at an event in Los Angeles - the Microsoft Surface Tablet and the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet with the later being a fully fledged Intel-powered PC that will run Windows 8 and all the apps that come with it.
The Microsoft Surface Pro tablet will weigh 903 grams, be 13.5mm thick and come with a 10.6-inch ClearType Full HD display. It will also sport much beefier tech specs over the consumer model, including being powered by an Intel Core i5 (Ivy Bridge) processor. Other upgraded specs include a microSDXC card instead of a microSD card, USB 3.0 over USB 2.0, and a Mini Display port as well.
Other features include pen support, allowing you to use a dedicated pen on the screen for making notes, and larger storage capacity of 64GB or 128GB compared to the consumer model, which will come only  in 32GB and 64GB models.
It will however sport the same design, come in the same VaporMg magnesium case with kickstand and let you use the Microsoft Type Cover that doubles as a keyboard and trackpad.
The Microsoft Surface Pro is expected three months after the launch of Windows 8, which is expected to be in October, giving us a January launch window. Microsoft says pricing will be decided nearer the launch date.

Dutch Court Rules In Favor Of Samsung Over Apple In 3G Patent Dispute

Hi guys,
I was doing some research and found out that samsung has won in Dutch court. I found this news at http://www.redmondpie.com.

The Apple versus Samsung debacle has been going on for a considerable amount of time, and with so much back-and-forth between the tech giants regarding who stole which patent, it’s quite easy to lose track.
The smartphone and tablet market is fiercely contested, and with both into the habit of stockpiling patents to not only enhance products, but prevent their respective adversary (and other rivals) from utilizing them.

It goes without question that if Samsung feels Apple is benefiting, making money, and thus harming business by plagiarizing one of its own innovations, then the Korean company has a duty to cry wolf, and although much of the running has been done by the Cupertino company in dragging the two companies through the courts, Samsung has its fair share of grievances.
In the post-Steve Jobs era, things seem to have calmed down, with the placid-natured Tim Cook looking to present an air of calm about the fiasco, which has frequently descended into playground-like cheap shots between the two. Before the latest wrung of disputes were heard by the courts, Cook, along with Samsung’s CEO, were obliged to take part in a meeting to try and find a resolution, but even considering the Apple head-honcho’s reluctance to partake in ongoing conflict, no such agreement was reached, and the next chapter of Apple versus Samsung would still require plenty of ink.
In the very latest, a District Court in the Netherlands, has decided the original iPad, the iPad 2, along with the iPhone 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4, are in violation of a Samsung patent with regards to the way the 3G connectivity operates. European Patent EP1188269 apparently protects "Apparatus for encoding a transport format combination indicator for a communications system," and Dutch site WebWereld.nl notes the court has advised the consumer electronics pairing to try and figure out their own compensation deal.
iPhone iPad
Given how badly the clear-the-air talks prior to the court date are reported to have gone, a figure is unlikely to be reached that will adequately satisfy Apple or Samsung. Moreover, the Korean company was still ordered to cough up the €800,000 in costs to Apple, since the court threw out two of its other patent complaints, which doesn’t bode well for the mutual exchange both camps will need to be present for.
There is no indication of a sales ban, which would certainly put the courtroom cat amongst the pigeons, but we’ll keep an eye open for any developments on this story.

What to expect at Apple's WWDC next week

Just got this news from cnet.com and I wanna share it with you!

Apple's annual developers conference kicks off next week, and there's no shortage of things to expect in the way of new software and hardware.
Piecing together months' worth of rumors, CNET has compiled a short list of things to expect during Monday's keynote. And of course be sure to tune in Monday morning, when we'll bring you live coverage from the show.

Tune in Monday anytime after 8 a.m. PT for our Apple WWDC keynote live blog.
iOS 6
iOS is one of the big reasons WWDC has become a hard ticket to nab by developers. The software, which powers the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and even Apple TV, is also home to the App Store where developers can sell apps. It's typically given a big update once a year, and this year is no different.
As for what to expect, the talk of the town has been an overhauled mapping application. Before your eyes glaze over, the word on that has been that there will be 3D features similar to the ones Google demoed earlier this week.
Perhaps a more exciting iOS 6 rumor is that it will add Siri -- at least for iPad users. A report from 9to5Mac last week made that claim, suggesting Apple was keen on adding the voice assistant software, which so far has been an iPhone 4S exclusive, for owners of Apple's latest tablet.
Other things that could show up are integration with Facebook (something we've heard before), and a handful of small tweaks to system apps like Safari and e-mail, all based on changes found in Mountain Lion.
When to expect all this is another matter. Given Apple's track record, it's safe to say you won't be able to get it Monday, that is unless you're a developer. Apple tends to run through several beta versions of the software with developers ahead of a public release. There's a good reason for that too: the software often has bugs and last-minute features that need ironing out.
Mountain Lion price, release date
Apple's next big cat was let out of the bag in February as part of an announcement that took most developers by surprise. Developers have had the last four months or so to ready their apps for the new features, some of which require selling through Apple's Mac App Store.

(Credit: Apple)
As a quick recap, Mountain Lion brings a handful of iOS features to Macs, including the aforementioned notes and reminders. It also adds a few other things, like Twitter integration and Apple's Game Center and iMessage services. There's also a new security feature called Gatekeeper, designed to fend off malware by controlling what applications can and cannot be installed.
Expect Apple to give Mountain Lion a price and a release date. For Lion last year, that was $34.99 and an early July arrival.
Updated Macs
Much of Apple's Mac lineup has become a bit long in the tooth, something that's expected to change next week. An alleged parts list that leaked earlier this week suggests Apple's MacBook Pro and Air lines are getting updates, along with the iMac and Mac Pro. Those latter two machines are long overdue for new bits; Apple hasn't updated the iMac since last May, while the Mac Pro has been left untouched since July 2010.
As for what to expect in the way of newness, an obvious addition is Intel's new batch of processors, code-named Ivy Bridge. Those chips began showing up in computers last month, and are not just faster but pack an extra graphics punch as well.

Apple's MacBook Air.
Apple's MacBook Air.
(Credit: Apple)
But the real story is in real hardware changes. Apple has long been rumored to be working on MacBook Pros that ditch the optical drive in favor of size. That might sound a lot like the MacBook Air line, but the difference here is that the machines would still have the bevy of ports and plugs, and traditional hard drive storage.
The other rumored change is a move to so-called "Retina Displays" on Macs, beginning with the 15-inch notebook. This is the kind of screen where the pixels are so tightly packed you can't see them when using the product. That feature first cropped up on the iPhone, and has since migrated over to the iPod Touch and iPad. According to one analyst CNET spoke with last month, those screens are already floating around the supply chain.
Evidence of both these things coming to Apple's notebooks -- at least the 15-inch model -- cropped up earlier this week in some leaked box shots (1, 2), which have not been confirmed. One other thing on that list was USB 3.0, an addition that makes a lot of sense given that the speedier connection is supported out of the gate with Intel's latest chips.
My CNET colleagues Dan Ackerman and Rich Brown have a much fuller list of updates they expect on the Mac here.
iCloud additions
Apple demoed iCloud for the first time at last year's show, releasing it to the public about four months later. The company is expected to add a few new features to the service's Web site, mainly notes and reminders. Both features appeared in a "beta" and "dev" version of iCloud.com last month, but not on the service's public-facing site. Why those apps would be there is not rocket science: notes and reminders are headed to the Mac with Mountain Lion.
Worth noting is that Apple's MobileMe site and service shut down at the end of the month. This has been in the cards since iCloud -- which is free -- replaced the $99 a year subscription service.

PTCL evo Introduces FUP. Low Speed Reason.

PTCL has again surprised its users by introducing fair usage policy. On day pass package you get only 1GB/day. It is not enough. Most of the users used that package. Because other packages of evo are very expensive. When you have consumed your assigned limit. You will get very less speed like 3-16 Kbps. If you are willing to buy evo think twice because now you are limited to only 1Gb/day.below is the video of evo before and after reaching maximum limit.
You can easily tell the difference. I think PTCL should lift its FUP. Because its service is not so good and now you are limiting people to only 1GB/day. I think it is not right.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs HTC One X

My friend and co-founder of www.techboxcorp.blogspot.com is very excited about the release of HTC One X but I think Samsung Galaxy S III is better than the former. I did some research over internet and viewed some great sites finally I reached the conclusion that Samsung Galaxy S III has a edge over HTC One X. Following is the Comparison from  http://www.knowyourmobile.com   . I hope that you will find it useful and will reach a conclusion to buy best smartphone.

FormHTC One X - 134.4x69.9x8.9mm, 130g
Samsung Galaxy S3 - 136.6x70.6x8.6mm, 133g
The HTC One X is easily one of the best looking smartphones the company has produced so far, alongside its One range stable-mate, the One S. The One X seems to take a few cues from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with its smoothly rounded shape, curved glass screen and contoured lines. One thing we particularly love about the One range's construction is the use of a unibody design made from a very high-quality plastic with a matte finish. This is one of the nicer Android handsets on the market when it comes to holding the device in your hand. It feels solid and well-made.
Samsung's Galaxy S3 follows a similar ‘Nexus-like' form factor with smooth curves which Samsung say are inspired by pebbles. Like the One X it has a very appealing and modern look. However, unlike the One X it is made from a very glossy and cheap feeling plastic which does it no favours at all.
We have to give HTC the winning vote here as its build quality fits much more with what we'd expect from a premium smartphone.
Winner - HTC One X
DisplayThe One X is equipped with a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen with a 1280x720 pixel resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass and a pixel density of 312 pixels-per-inch (ppi). Although there are a few better displays on the market this is amongst the top tier in our view, offering crisp picture quality, good clarity in brighter light conditions, excellent brightness and colour depth.
The Galaxy S3's display is a little larger at 4.8-inches and instead of LCD uses Samsung's Super AMOLED HD technology. This means deeper blacks and better contrast, but although Super AMOLED HD performs better in sunlight than other OLED types it's not going to be quite as good at this as the Super IPS LCD2 of the One X. In terms of clarity, however, things are pretty good here with the same 1280x720 pixel resolution giving a 306ppi pixel density.
Although these screens have some slightly different strengths and weaknesses they both represent the top of their class in both OLED and LCD display tech. We're calling this a draw.
Winner - Draw
Storage
Samsung's Galaxy S3 comes in three storage variants with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of onboard space and each type also has micro SD capability for cards up to 32GB, along with 1GB of RAM to support the processor.
HTC's One X has only one storage variant with 32GB of internal capacity, it also has 1GB of RAM but no card slot.
Samsung has stuck to its usual habit of providing plenty of space and plenty of options, making the Galaxy S3 a preferable choice here.
Winner - Samsung Galaxy S3
ProcessorEach handset runs a quad core setup. The One X uses Nvidia's Tegra 3 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz with a Geforce ULP graphics processing unit (GPU) while the Galaxy S3 has Samsung's own Exynos 4212 chipset at 1.4GHz with a Mali-400MP GPU.
In reality, there aren't any apps or games on the market which take advantage of quad core setups, and very few which utilise dual core. The extra cores might help with multi-tasking, particularly for intensive workloads, but in the main both have an overwhelming reserve of power which isn't really needed, as both can cruise along quite happily anyway.
We found the Tegra 3 chipset can run Ice Cream Sandwich very smoothly indeed and it's perhaps hard to imagine that another chipset could run perceptibly quicker. We do think, however, that on benchmarking the Galaxy S3's Exynos will probably dominate. In practical terms though, we're calling this a draw.
Winner - Draw
Operating System
Both devices run on the latest build of Google's Android platform, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0. Overall this provides a faster and more stable Android experience than previous builds and this is consistent across both phones.
They also enjoy a more intuitive menu structure and easy-to-use multi-tasking controls. However, they differ by using each manufacturer's own interface overlays. In the case of the One X we have HTC's Sense 4.0 while the Galaxy S3 uses the newest version of TouchWiz.
Generally these do not dramatically alter the ICS experience other than cosmetic changes, however, the Galaxy S3 has a few additional tweaks. These include a voice control input called S-Voice, which functions in a similar manner to Apple's Siri. Another bonus feature is the ability to make a call to a contact you are texting simply by raising the phone to your ear.
Lastly, the phone's front-facing camera tracks your eye movement and powers the screen on or off depending on whether you're actively using the handset.
Although some of Samsung's changes are impressive we are yet to discover how useful and practical they are in everyday use. In the meantime, we feel this is a draw.
Winner - Draw

Camera

Both handsets have very similar setups. They each sport an 8-megapixel back-illuminated sensor (BSI) with a 3264x2448 pixel resolution for the primary camera. This includes an LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image and video stabilisation, HDR, panoramic mode, white balance, ISO control and exposure control. The One X also has continuous autofocus for video.
But it doesn't end there, each handset can capture 1080p HD video and still images simultaneously and features a rapid multi-shot mode with a ‘best shot' selection capability. Both are also capable of video calling on their front-facing secondary cameras, the One X's is rated at 1.3-megapixels and the Galaxy S3's is 2-megapixels capturing video at 720p HD quality.
Although there are a few feature differences overall we feel both handsets have excellent cameras which most users will be more than happy with.
Final thoughts
The Galaxy S3 is an impressive piece of kit in most areas as compared to HTC One X. We'd go with Samsung Galaxy S3.

We need Self Care Portal for PTCL EVO

Today I am gonna tell why we need self care portal for evo. Its prety simple everyone wants to see his account details under single page. Wateen lauchned its portal for the sake of its users. User can get every information about their account i.e ownership details, activation details etc .

Many dealers activates devices even beafor anyone buys them. They do so beacause of huge bonuses given by PTCL to dealers who sell required amount of devices. These dealer then sell these devive to thier customers even in same price or less.
When someone tries to change one's packages they hear that this device is even not on their name. So PTCL should provide theone stop solution by building selfcare portal. If yuo want to get information about your evo device you have to call to 1218 or other helpline. I am sure no one wants that.

Facebook surrenders its privacy in IPO documents

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Facebook is baring its business soul.
The unveiling came late Wednesday when the company that depends on people to share their lives online filed its plans to raise $5 billion in an initial public offering of stock. It's a revelatory moment that prospective investors, curious competitors and nosy reporters have been awaiting for two years. During that time, Facebook established itself as a communications hub and emerged as a threat to the Internet's most powerful company, Google Inc.
As with almost anything crafted by a bunch of lawyers and bankers, the 197-page prospectus that Facebook filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission is filled with boilerplate legalese and mind-numbing numbers.
But there were some juicy details in there, too.
Above all, the documents confirmed what everyone had been hearing: Facebook is very profitable and getting stronger. The company Mark Zuckerberg started with some friends in 2004 has seen its annual revenue soar from $777 million in 2009 to $3.7 billion last year. Facebook's earnings have grown at a similar rate too, ballooning from $122 million in 2009 to $668 million last year.
Facebook ended 2011 with $3.9 billion in cash. That's a relatively small amount compared to the nearly $45 billion that Google has in the bank.
Facebook's prosperity has been fueled by a steady expansion of its audience, making its website a more attractive marketing vehicle for ads, which account for most of the company's revenue. Facebook ended last year with 845 million users, up 39 percent from 608 million at the end of 2010. Those users share their interests and preferences prodigiously. Facebook recorded a daily average of 2.7 billion "likes" and comments during the final three months of last year.
Facebook has become so addictive that more than half its audience — 483 million users — log in every day.
Facebook's revenue total disappointed some people who pored through the documents. One reason: The company generates about $4.39 in revenue per user. "That is a surprisingly low number," said University of Notre Dame finance professor Tim Loughran, who studies IPOs. Google's annual revenue of nearly $38 billion works out to more than $30 per user of its services.
"Facebook needs to find more ways to get revenue from their users," Loughran said.
Facebook listed its most promising expansion opportunities as Brazil, Germany, India, Japan, Russia and South Korea. The company, based in Menlo Park, Calif., eventually hopes to make its service available in China if it can navigate rules requiring online content to be censored if the Chinese government considers it to be objectionable or obscene.
The IPO filing gives some clue when Facebook is likely to surpass 1 billion users. If it can add users at roughly the same pace as last year, Facebook should surpass the 1 billion mark this summer.
As it is, Facebook already generates 44 percent of its revenue outside the U.S. The company is also developing other sources of revenue beyond online advertising faster than Google. Advertising accounted for 85 percent of Facebook's revenue last year. It made up 96 percent of Google's. Facebook's other revenue sources include the 30 percent cut of sales it takes from game makers and other external applications companies that sell things on its website.
The big question is whether Facebook's numbers are impressive enough to fetch the lofty IPO price. It's still too early in the process for Facebook to reveal how much it intends to ask for its shares, but Wednesday's filing provides some clues. Facebook valued its Class B common stock at $29.73 at the end of December, down slightly from appraisals of $30.07 in June and September. If this unfolds like most hot IPOs, Facebook will probably try to sell its shares at a premium. That could mean an IPO price in the $35 to $40 range. Investor demand, though, ultimately will dictate the pricing.
Facebook still hasn't listed how many outstanding shares it has, but the documents make it possible to make a rough estimate of the company's market value at the end of last year. Financial notes in the filing show Facebook calculated it had about 2.9 billion fully diluted shares at the end of December. That works out to a market value of about $86 billion, based on Facebook's $29.73-per-share self-appraisal.
At that price, the nearly 534 million shares that the 27-year-old Zuckerberg owns are worth about $16 billion. The filing indicates Zuckerberg will sell an unspecified number of shares in the IPO to cover a tax bill for exercising a stock option to buy 120 million shares. Zuckerberg has been collecting a $500,000 salary but that will fall to one dollar next year at his own request, according to the filing.
Other big winners in the IPO include: Facebook co-founder and old Zuckerberg friend, Dustin Moskovitz, who owns nearly 134 million shares; venture capital firm Accel Partners, which owns 201 million shares; Russian investor DST Global Ltd., which owns 131 million shares; and former PayPal CEO Peter Thiel, who owns nearly 45 million shares.
Hundreds of other Facebook employees could become millionaires because they receive stock as part of their compensation. Facebook has about 3,200 employees now, nearly 2,000 more than it did two years ago.
Facebook also shared some of its biggest worries in the filing. Among other things, it cited Google's ability to use its dominance in Internet search to promote its Google Plus social network. Facebook also frets the possibility that regulators in Europe and the U.S. may impose tougher privacy rules that would make it more difficult for the company to stockpile information about its users.

Samusung looking to hurt Nokia in 2012

The time of Nokia's unquestionable reign in the mobile phone market is drawing to a close it seems, as the Finns lost the smartphone shipment race last year. Samsung are reportedly gunning for the top, confident they can outsell Nokia in all categories in 2012.
They've beaten their 2010 sales records, moving the impressive 300 million phones in 2011, which seems to set them on the right track. They were on top in terms of smartphone volumes, but still trail Nokia when you consider all phones.
Analysts from Gartner are less certain that the South Koreans can steal the crown, saying that Nokia's strong position in emerging markets will allow it to maintain its lead. Especially, because the growth of the smartphone market is expected to slow down this year, except in emerging markets where Nokia reigns supreme. This is something Samsung will need to address if they really want the top spot, analysts say.
Reuters is predicting Nokia will sell 388 million phones in 2012, with Samsung following close by with 359 million. Their predictions for 2011 were 418 million and 320 million respectively, so predictions aren't always exact.
We'll see how things go. Samsung is pushing forward with Android, Bada and maybe Tizen, while Nokia is making Symbian (now Nokia OS, previously the top OS by market share) play second fiddle to their new love Windows Phone, which both Nokia and Microsoft expect to really pick up this year.

WHO:Cell phones may cause brain cancer

Radiation from cell phones could possibly cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization.

cell phones and radiation

In a report issued today, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is an arm of the WHO, said it now lists mobile phone use in the same category as lead, gasoline engine exhaust, and chloroform. Officially, cell phone radiation is listed as a "carcinogenic hazard."
Until today, the WHO's IARC had said that there were no adverse health effects from the use of cell phones. The wireless industry, including the CTIA lobbying group, and the Federal Communications Commission and U.S. Food and Drug Administration have also long maintained that cell phones are safe.
The CTIA, the wireless industry trade association in the U.S., was quick to point out that the WHO's IARC did not say that cell phones definitely cause cancer.
"IARC conducts numerous reviews and in the past has given the same score to, for example, pickled vegetables and coffee," John Walls, vice president of public affairs for CTIA, said in a statement. "This IARC classification does not mean cell phones cause cancer. Under IARC rules, limited evidence from statistical studies can be found even though bias and other data flaws may be the basis for the results."
The group also emphasized that the IARC's determination was based on reviewed published studies and was not the result of new scientific research.
"The IARC working group did not conduct any new research, but rather reviewed published studies," Walls continued. "Based on previous assessments of the scientific evidence, the Federal Communications Commission has concluded that '[t]here's no scientific evidence that proves that wireless phone usage can lead to cancer.' The Food and Drug Administration has also stated that '[t]he weight of scientific evidence has not linked cell phones with any health problems.'"
In response to Tuesday's news, an FCC spokesman said, "The FCC currently requires cell phones to meet safety standards based on the advice of federal health and safety agencies. We support the IARC recommendation for more research to clearly identify any potential health risks and, as appropriate, consider whether further actions may be required."
The new determination from the WHO's IARC was established at a meeting in France where a team of 31 scientists from 14 countries, including the United States, considered peer-reviewed studies about the safety of cell phones. The team said that it had found enough evidence to consider exposure to cell phone radiation as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."
The scientists reiterated what many in the field have said for years, which is that there are not enough long-term studies to decisively say one way or another whether cell phone radiation causes cancer. But there is enough data to show connections between exposure and health risks for consumers to be concerned.

Jonathan Samet, a medical doctor and professor from the University of Southern California, and the overall Chairman of the IARC's Working Group, which reviewed the studies, said in a statement today that "the evidence, while still accumulating, is strong enough to support a conclusion and the 2B classification. The conclusion means that there could be some risk, and therefore we need to keep a close watch for a link between cell phones and cancer risk."
The IARC has not yet published new guidelines for cell phone use, but the director of the organization suggested that concerned consumers take precautions to reduce exposure. He also emphasized the need for more research.
"Given the potential consequences for public health of this classification and findings, it is important that additional research be conducted into the long-term, heavy use of mobile phones," IARC Director Christopher Wild said in a statement. "Pending the availability of such information, it is important to take pragmatic measures to reduce exposure such as hands?free devices or texting."
The IARC said in a statement that it considered hundreds of scientific articles, including some recent articles that had been published as a result of the 10-year Interphone study.

Punjab Bans Mobile Phones in Schools / Colleges

Punjab Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution banning the use of mobile phones in schools and colleges, which may result into a blanket ban of mobile phone devices in campuses throughout the province.

The resolution was moved by Raheela Khadim Hussain, a PML-N MPA from Lahore, and was passed unanimously in the House.

Provincial Assembly pressed Punjab Government to restrict girls and boys from using mobile phones in their schools and colleges.

Raheela Khadim Hussain maintained mobile phone is a necessity but students remain busy in texting their friends during classes and hence don’t concentrate on their studies.

Raheela Hussain told the house that there is already a law in the country regarding the ban of mobile phones in educational institutes, which is not being implemented. She said that she moved the bill to make sure that already available law is implemented at least in province of Punjab.

Students, especially in urban areas, largely use mobile phones and are often found utilizing SMS and hourly call packages.

It is unclear so far when this directive will be issued to educational institutes of the province. We are yet to ascertain the penalties, if any, for violation of this ban.

A mixed reaction is expected from portents while students will evidently protest the decision.

It maybe recalled that for the better future of youth, Punjab and KPK Assemblies had demanded federal government to ban night packages, which federal government never listened to.

Pakistan a Safe Heaven for Cyber Criminals

Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Chief, through a letter (at last) apprised the Federal Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Minister that in the absence of Prevention of Electronic Crime Ordinance (PECO) Law 2007 (lapsed in 2010), Pakistan had become a safe heaven for cyber criminals and con artists whereas the law enforcement agencies were unable to take legal action against them.

CPLC in its letter said that it receives countless complaints regarding fake calls deceiving citizens into receiving a phony prize, misleading text messages, threatening and harassing through mobile phone calls and messages and so on. However, CPCL said, FIA is unable to take any action against all such crimes due to the absence of PECO.

Letter referenced to an incident in which CPLC received once such complaint from a trader of Jodia Bazaar where the culprits had disappeared after he (trader) transferred Rs 10,000 to them via easy load. Culprits had promised a hefty lottery money to the trader.

After receiving several complains, Sindh CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy asked FIA to take up such cases for necessary action as per law. In response to Chinoy’s letter, FIA told him that due to the absence of PECO, they were unable to take any action against the offenders.

Letter that was addressed to the Federal Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Minister to draw his attention towards the PECO Law 2007, which had been lapsed in 2010.

Urging the federal minister to revoke PECO, letter said that these criminals were intentionally harming the physical, mental and financial position of their victims by using modern telecommunication networks such as internet and mobile phones.

Unspoken tricks for Windows 7

Use hidden international wallpapers and themes
When you first install Windows 7, it asks for your language, time and currency. Based on your responses, it installs a set of wallpapers and themes. If you choose English (United States) for your time and currency format, for example, the available desktop backgrounds and themes will include a United States section with scenery from locations such as Maine, the Southwest and so on.
Hidden, though, are background scenery and themes from other English-speaking countries -- Australia, Canada, Great Britain and South Africa. Normally, you can't access those backgrounds or themes, but there is a simple way you can install and use them:
1. In the search box in the Start menu, type C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT and press Enter. (Note: If Windows 7 is installed in a drive other than C:, use that letter instead.)
2. Windows Explorer will launch and show you a list of subfolders under C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT: MCT-AU, MCT-CA, MCT-GB, MCT-US, and MCT-ZA. Each subfolder has wallpapers for a specific country: AU for Australia, CA for Canada, GB for Great Britain, US for the United States, and ZA for South Africa.
For any of the countries whose wallpaper and themes you want to use, go into its Theme folder, for example, C:\Windows\Globalization\MCT\MCT-ZA\Theme. Double-click the theme you see there (for example US).
                                                       US theme ready to use

3. That will install a shortcut to the theme and wallpapers in the Personalization section of Control Panel.
You can now use them as you would any other theme or background, by right-clicking the desktop, choosing Personalize, and choosing a background or theme. They will be listed in their own section.

CES Will Be Thick With Thin Ultrabooks

Ultrabooks appear to be the anointed star product category of CES 2012. The super thin notebook computers are being pushed by Intel as well as several of its hardware partners. Ultrabooks emphasize design, performance and a degree of affordability, but will consumers bite?

Ultrabooks will make a strong showing at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held in Las Vegas Jan. 10-13, with Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) and several computer vendor partners demoing products.
"The new category is already gaining momentum, with many Ultrabooks powered by second-generation Intel Core processors in the market today, and more than 60 designs already under way for 2012," Intel spokesperson Becky Emmett told TechNewsWorld.
"[Ultrabooks] are an attractive product and very portable," said Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group. "The intention is to push them [into the] mainstream."
"The shipment of Windows 8 ... will put tablet features into Ultrabook-like products, and tablets may become redundant," Enderle suggested.
People "don't want to carry multiple large devices," and Ultrabooks will gain tablet-like features such as touch, Enderle explained.

What's an Ultrabook?

Intel announced the Ultrabook category at Computex in Taipei in May, and it has trademarked the term.
Ultrabooks are intended to be less than 0.8 inches (21 mm) thin and are priced at levels Intel describes as "mainstream."
The first Ultrabooks, based on second-generation Intel Core processors, nicknamed "Sandy Bridge," hit the market in 2011. Many Ultrabooks to be announced at CES 2012 will be powered by the third-generation Intel Core processor, nicknamed "Ivy Bridge." They will be availability in systems in Spring, Intel's Emmett said.
These will be followed in 2013 by Ultrabooks powered by the fourth-generation Intel Core processor, nicknamed "Haswell," Emmett stated.

To the Bridge

Ivy Bridge processors are the first to incorporate Intel's 3D Tri-Gate transistor. This transistor uses three gates wrapped around the silicon channel in three dimensions, making for high performance and energy efficiency.
The 3D Tri-Gate transistors use Intel's 22nm Atom microarchitecture. Future system on a chip (SoC) products based on these transistors will come in at below 1 mW of idle power.
SoCs (systems on a chip) integrate all components of an electronic system, such as a computer, into one chip. They may include digital, analog, and mixed-signal functions, as well as a graphics processing unit.

Marketing Sizzle or Real Muscle?

Demand for Ultrabooks has reportedly been weak. Acer and Asus, which both launched the first generation of these devices in 2011, apparently had to slash orders by 40 percent because of this.
"This is a price-sensitive market, and neither vendor did much marketing," Enderle told TechNewsWorld. "The market won't move to Ultrabooks unless motivated to do so by strong marketing or a more attractive price."
Manufacturers of the first generation of Ultrabooks, which debuted in 2011, had reportedly refused to begin work until Intel increased subsidies from a US$300 million Ultrabook Fund that Intel Capital had set up in August to help boost work on Ultrabooks.
They apparently needed the boost to keep prices under the $1,000 mark.
However, reports that Intel is offering a subsidy for Ultrabooks are "completely false," company spokesperson Emmett stated.
"We are working very closely with our customers to ensure that Ultrabooks deliver a compelling and unique value proposition to customers," Emmett said. Intel will "focus [its] global marketing resources on the creation, growth and acceleration of the new category."
The Ultrabook Fund's purpose is to "invest in companies building hardware and software technologies focused on enhancing how people interact with Ultrabooks," according to Intel.
Buying habits show "there is a need and desire for high-performance mobile devices at many price points," Emmett suggested.
Strong marketing "can get people to buy upmarket if they find the product compelling, and Ultrabooks have this potential," Enderle remarked.
However, as a parts maker, Intel "isn't well positioned to market a product because [it] can't focus down on [a device from any one manufacturer]," Enderle pointed out.
Ultrabooks could comprise eight percent of the notebook market in 2012, Brian Marshall, an analyst at the ISI Group, predicted in a note to investors in December.

Long awaited approval 3G policy has reportedly been approved by Yousaf Raza Gilani, Prime Minister of Pakistan, reported Express Tribune.
After PM’s approval the policy will now be forwarded to Cabinet Committee for the final approval from cabinet, before it’s handed over to Ministry of Information Technology for execution.

Ministry of Information Technology gave a presentation on recommendations formulated by Cabinet Committee comprising Dr. Hafeez Sheikh, Minister for Finance, Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Water and Power, and Ghos Baksh Mehr, Minister for Privatization and Dr Asim Hussain, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources.
It was decided that three blocks of 10 MHZs each out of available 3G spectrums would be immediately offered for auction and existing operators can participate in this round as well. New players will also be invited but with provision that if new player is successful in bid then they would be eligible to start operation only after March 2013 when moratorium on new licensing, as per Government’s agreement with Etisalat, would expire.
More spectrums would be made available for 3/4 G services and offered for auction with the provision that winners of such auction will receive amended licenses and allocated frequencies by March 2013 and as such will be able to start their services thereafter.
In order to ensure professionalism and transparency, it was also decided that a committee of Public Sector stakeholders including representatives from Ministries of Finance, Information Technology, PTA and representative of Frequency Allocation Board would supervise auction process. PTA would devise an appropriate methodology to conduct varying component of this auction as decided under the supervision of the Committee.
Facebook has gone this much crazy for getting new subscribers in Pakistan that they are attracting youth by advertising for nude girls in Pakistan. I won’t say much, but Google’s role in display such explicit ads is objectionable. It also raises the concerns that why Adwords still hasn’t blocked Facebook’s account.Above this, for whatever reason, and for whatever way these ads are appearing; why Facebook would need such dirty words to advertise its platform? Totally out of mind.
